Dual Loyalty and Objective Idealism
I’ve been feeling pretty down lately from lack of validation. It’s a personal story but also a story of my people but also a story of people that are not my people.
If we entertain the idea of atomism and essentialism, then we get stuck in this train of thought.
The idea of atomism and essentialism is that there is an experience that is pure. Contrasted with this, there are experiences that are not pure.
What determines this purity?
It depends on the atomic individual to carry judgment. Judgment as a phenomena exists at an atomic level, based on the individual human existing.
“In context” becomes the problematic point of departure. Our judgment must be done in context.
Up to now, there haven’t been any formalism. Thus, this text hasn’t been able to be interpreted “in context.” As of now, this text has been like Rorschach tests. The individual sees the judgments made by the individual. Not the context.
Context, in the most abstract sense, would be considered mathematics. Math creates a self-less judgment by creating a context that is purely dependent on the context and not the one making the judgments.
After math, we have physics and chemistry, where the one making the judgment is a little bit more fleshed out (ie, the scientist), but the scientists is defined precisely by the context to by a judge of a particular sort.
At the other end, we have formalism defined by existentialism. Where the form is ready-made within the individual practicing the existentialism. Any individual forming existential question will form themselves in the process.
Somewhere in the middle, we all exist. In society. (Or is societies?)
In society, the context of the individual is based on the function provided by the individual.
I’m autistic, schizophrenic. Have OCD, anxiety, depression. But I’m high functioning. Which I take to mean that my formalism is distinct from society but able to blend with society. Although individuals within society notice my idiosyncrasies, the societal context is blind to this.
Me being born into a society I no longer reside in physically, but maintain spiritual, is struggle because people within that society are ready to claim I don’t do enough to maintain our “identity” alive. That I’m a bad representation of that identity and that I’m barely relevant when it comes to defining that formal society. Thus an outsider.
And I’m ok with that.
I carry that society with me forever. But my interpretation. It’s not a society that will live forever unscathed. It’s a society that will need to evolve. And my ideal is such.
Thus Objective Idealism.
Opposed to the atomic, essential individual, is the greater ideal that creates the context for the individual atom to exist.
Before existentialism and society, physics and chemistry. Before physics and chemistry, math and formalism. Before math and formalism, the individual judge that sees the whole.
