Love From Afar: On Neighborly Love
To replace our worldview with a foundation of process philosophy means that we think in terms of events rather than in term of unique experiences.
Now, a unique experience requires replication. At the very least, the unique experience needs a context that blends with our previous, sober understanding of life.
This recording of experience is fundamentally understood through epistemology. The epistemology can then be understood through an analysis varying between metaphysics, logic, aesthetics. Some also claim ethics but this is dubious.
First, maybe paradoxically, we have to understand what it is we understand.
For example, gossip is a form of social epistemology. Gossip is based on a form of communication that involves sharing knowledge with individuals based on political relationships and political aspiration. The relationships and aspirations are strategic and evolving. The gossip one lends one’s believes to help make up one’s epistemology.
The “make up” of the epistemology is defined by a series of meaning that is necessarily correlated. This correlation is intimately connected with the shared movement of everything in existence through the same time.
Sharing time is an anchoring point. The depth of this anchoring is tied to our epistemology, what we necessarily believe to place ourselves somewhere in time.
This necessary belief is a learned process as our response to processing information. Information moves through time the same way time moves through gravity.
Pressure brings together information, time, gravity and one of the product is us.
We exist under this pressure. How we stress the pressure determines who are are. The process of making sense of the pressure: the making of sense which exists in direct correlation with the process of the sense.
The pressure mixed with social contingent memory/epistemology places us in a stream of evolution as long as we correlate our participation/stress with the tempo of the epistemology. The product can be studied, again, for its values from logic, metaphysics, and esthetics, but it’s formed through epistemology.
The epistemology created, in part by our participation, is the foundation for everyone’s existence whose existence depend on that group/gossip epistemology. Individuals carry formal definition like terms in a specialized field. Communication with these terms make way toward “deeper” learning, more specialization, more specific, defined duties.
The gossip-epistemology that has ruled since the time of Machiavelli is being challenged by a decentralized-epistemology centered around the abstract process of the internet. The internet acts as a medium for epistemology that acts the human to be less there.
This is like warehouses being automated and left without humans.
The human that has to be inside us doesn’t have to exist in the gossip-centered interpretation of reality. We can define ourselves more abstractly, have others depend less of us, because we can automate the process by which we care for one another.
