Resurrection of an Author
to calibrate what it means to live
to have your name ring bells and make waves
to read a book and want to kill who wrote it
so you could be its first love
to remove meaning to create your own
to speak aloud another’s words with thine soul
maybe the written word is evidence of a life lived
a life living
the death of an author as much a dream as the resurrected one
to become the shadow of a pen moved in an authentic way
as to make the shadow real
to know direction, to see an atlas, to experience means
to find yourself in the past of another
to continue a path you did not start
to echo an echo and hear it as well
to see the messiah in an emaciated, dehydrated dying body covered in red wine-stained skin
to see strength in vulnerability and sympathy in an alien
to think the author can never die as long as words live
